When I was very young my parents didn't have much spare cash so we had to improvise.

1X 5ft bamboo cane Tied on a length of ordinary thread. Found a large feather, stripped off the flighty bits. made a hole in a cork bottle stopper, threaded the quill through the cork, tied on a bent pin as a hook. Went to dads manure heap found some worms to use for bait. And went to the local canal a few hundred yards away. And did my thing, as did a few of my pals.

Can't for the life of me remember whether or not I ever caught a fish.
But what I can say is. WE HAD FUN................. zeus Laughing Laughing Laughing

I know of a few people that used to do that also,have seen some vids on it too. that would be cool trying that
